Nieuwpoort, city of ” Versche Vis “

Recommended for half a day = 37 km

Sit back and relax while you scoot along the bank of the river the Yser, passing silent anglers and enjoying the rustling sound of the reet and the leaves.  We drive via the lock complex of Nieuwpoort to the fish auction, where you can literally and figuratively soak up the atmosphere. Want a taste? Then look for fish house “De Panger” where you can taste the famous “vesche gernoors” (shrimps) whether or not accompanied with a “fishwife” (local beer). Via the kattesas, a narrow lock, we drive along the old marina, into the harbor channel. Where salt and fresh water meet, a special biotope developed here: mud flats, salt marshes, dunes, beach and polders.

The sea, the beach!! Enjoy a delicious ice cream or a tasty cup of coffee with the most beautiful view!!

Because we are not allowed to drive on the beach promenade, we continue our way along the numerous nice shops in Albert 1-laan.

Scooter cheerfully and relaxed in this quiet and typical polder-like landscape!

The thirsty can quench their thirst in the “Dorstige Hart” or in “D’Oude Pastorie” in the small village Wulpen.

The end is in sight, you have reached ‘t Antoontje! Settle down, taste our homemade picon and reminisce this incredible experience!
